Getup Australia!

I was watching the AFL Grand Final on Saturday (congrats cats!) and at 3:08pm an ad came on that parodied the Howard Government's climate clever ad (which I thought was one of the most cynical political excercises I have seen in a long time). The ad was hilarious. I congratulate all those involved.

I had never heard of Getup! before but I love their sentiment. They are not a political party. They are a non profit organisation trying to get Australians to tell the pollies what is really important.

That kind of fits in really well with what I am doing here in my blog so I thought I would tell you about them.

Here is something extraordinary. They have over 200,000 members. More than any other political party. They are utilising the power of the net and have built a strong online community that raised over $200,000 in 2 DAYS to get their ad on the air. That is powerful stuff.
