Cloud comparison and lead generation

Ever hear of Tag Clouds?

Today I share a technique shown to me by Sharon Crost (@mktwow on twitter) . It is a great way to get a visual representation of what your competitors are doing with keyword density, the frequency of keywords on a page.

Also how many leads per week or day can your business handle? This should be your first consideration when embarking on any marketing campaign & SEO should be no different. Measure your leads not your rankings.

Ranking in multiple countries

The trial we have been running works! If you have export markets this is great news for you. Google is now including vertical search components in "pages from" searches. It is easier to get ranked in these searches than "from the web" searches. Also more on morons from Canberra.

Duplicate content is bad for Google

There are a lot of myths about duplicate content. If you are trying to reach export markets it can be a pain in the bum to get found in local search in those markets. Today I look at a technique that the team is trialling. Watch this week's show.

Take advantage of Google changes.

Google has yet again made changes. Today I have a look at one of the changes "options".

This new tool allows you to easily customise your search results. One of the most interesting changes is the ability to look at time based results. There are some good opportunities to not only investigate keywords but also to stay on top of the time based results.

There wasn't enough time today to cover Google snippets & Google squared as well but if you have a shopping cart on your site you should get your developer to at least investigate 'snippets' or else wait for next week's show where I will do a review.

In the meantime watch this week's show.

Don't be Google's bitch - A ranking tutorial

SEO folk have caught a lot of flack over the years about our perceived manipulation of the search results. That is not what good SEO is about though.

Today in a ranking tutorial, I show you how NOT to be Google's bit-h and take control of how the world sees your site.

Your web developer is to builders as SEO is to electricians.

Please let your web developer know we are happy to work with them to get your site ranking no.1. We have setup a web developer affiliate program and currently we work with a bunch of web development firms. We'd be happy to work with yours too! Watch the show!

Exetel Review

Exetel

I just learned that the first email I received from Steve Waddington was actually a form email first penned by fellow Exetel Director John Linton. Now I understand why it didn't make sense. The contempt these clowns have for their customers is unbelievable. I find it amazing they are sending an email that tells customers they are being ridiculous.
