About Us

Stew Art Media began in 1998. We provide Streaming Media Content development and streaming hosting including live webcasts.  

In 2001 we began providing search marketing services which has now become the main activity of our business.

The streaming services we provide can vary greatly depending on your requirements. However having great content is no guarantee to being found on the web which is why we also provide Search Engine Optimisation services. This is the practice of getting your web site found  in the search engines.

Jim Stewart Director - Stew Art Media Pty Ltd


Jim bought his first computer in 1983 started using the Internet in 1992 and became an Internet Consultant in 1995.

His expertise in the online space has been greatly sought after by both private enterprise and the public sector. He was the senior consultant behind some of Australia's first corporate websites including the RACV and the 1995 TV Week Logie Awards. In 1996 he was the project lead on Australia's first commercial VoIP project and consulted on a number of other leading edge projects.

In 1998 he formed Stew Art Media to focus on the emerging area of rich media on the Internet. He subsequently consulted to national broadcasters in Pakistan, Malaysia, Fiji, Sri Lanka and Brunei on streaming media.

 From 1998 to 2001 he produced and presented a daily video technology news show called IOB CoffeeBreak which was syndicated to Yahoo!, AOL (US), Real Networks (US), Microsoft Windows Media Guide (Aust.), Optus@Home (Broadband), Seek and ZD Net (Aust). It had over 50,000 viewers per month from 23 different countries. At the same time Jim was also a regular contributor to TTalk.com, a US based Internet Radio Technology Show.

From 1997 to 2002 Jim could be heard regularly on ABC Radio (Gael Jennings and Peter Clarke) as the Internet consultant and he has also appeared on Network 10's The Panel, Channel 9's A Current Affair and he has written for Australian Personal Computer Magazine.

He has spoken at Networld Interop on emerging technologies and most recently ran a Digital Rights Management workshop for the mobile device industry at Mobile Content World in Sydney May 2005.

 Jim has been the Systems Architect and Streaming Producer for over 200 live webcasts of such music acts as, Melissa Etheridge, Gene Simmonds, Black Eyed Peas, Anastascia, Youthu Yindi and actors including Rik Mayall, Molly Ringwald and Sean William Scott. Stew Art Media's current clients include Multimedia Victoria, Department of Industry, Innovation and Regional Development, Department of Victorian Communities and Metricon Homes.


Joanna Davis Marketing Specialist - Stew Art Media Pty Ltd


 Joanna has worked in information technology since 1970. In 1976 she began a new career at International Computers Ltd (since taken over by Fujitsu). While at ICL she was trained in most aspects of computer programming, analysis and then progressed into sales and marketing. She was the first woman to be appointed by ICL to a sales role in Australia. She was responsible for the sales of capital equipment into organisations such as Woolworths, Bristol Paints, Electrolux and Humes Ltd.

 From ICL she moved to Qantel Computers. Her task at Qantel was to set up Marketing Plans to penetrate accounts who were using computers for Membership and Accounting. She successfully increased sales in this area by 100% including famous names such as the Melbourne Cricket Club, Hospital Employees Federation, Royal Australian Chemical Institute. She was offered the Sales Manager position for Victoria in 1992.

 Upon leaving Qantel she became Member Services Manager for the largest Medical Defence Organisation in Australia. his involved change management from an administrative company to one focussed on customer service.

It was them time for her to open her own business and she operated an independent bookshop in Melbourne. This was a successful venture that contributed to her knowledge of business operation from an owner's perspective. Five years later she conducted all aspects of the sale of her bookshop.
