Workchoice website update

This Workchoice update article is a summary of what has happened since our original workchoice article was published on 13/10/2005. The original article discussed the apparent lack of effort that had gone into the online marketing of the Howard Government's Workchoice Industrial Relations policy .

The story so far:

  • On 13/10/2005 the Government's Workchoice Website was ranked tenth in Google for the word Workchoice.

On the 14th they had risen to number three in Google Australia for the word workchoice after rewriting some of their links. It seemed as though they did some work on online marketing once they realised the ALP was ranking above them. Our own workchoice article had risen to number four for the word workchoice after having only been written the day before.

  • On the 15th our Workchoice article slipped to seventh in Google Australia for the word workchoice and the Government website rose to number 2 in Google Australia. We added one link off our front page to our article on the industrial relations policy and we went back up two places in Google.

  • On the 17/10/2005, the time of writing this article,  the Government website is now number one in Google Australia and number two in Google Worldwide for the word Workchoice. However, they do not rank at all in Ninemsn or Yahoo. They also do not rank in any of the search engines for the following phrases, "workchoice industrial relations policy", "workchoice website", "Howard's workchoice" or "workchoice Australia". These are the phrases that people are typing in to the search engines.

  • So where does our original article rank now?
